Process

Each village has a fixed number of sanctioned pensions decided by the district level coordination committee. Because of this regressive quota system eligible beneficiaries often have to wait perversely for a 'death vacancy'

Receive

Pensions are distributed on the 1st and 5th of every month in cash. The time and venue in each ward is published in the local newspapers in the last week of March every year.

Some pensioners in pilot areas have received smart cards linked to their bank account and aadhar number.
