2003 Delhi Living with Hunger
Hundreds of people from hunger-affected communities around the country gathered on 10th January 2003 at Delhi University to present testimonies of their life experiences and assert the right to food. This public hearing was attended by a large crowd of students, concerned citizens, government officials and eminent personalities including Amartya Sen, Mahasweta Devi, Arundhati Roy, Mark Tully, Aruna Roy and Deepak Nayyar, among others.
This event was convened by the support group of the Right to Food Campaign, an informal network of individuals and organisations committed to the realisation of the right to food. More than fifty organisations from twelve different states were represented at the hearing.
